THCa (tetrahydrocannabinolic acid) is the pure, unaltered essence of cannabis. It’s one of the many remarkable cannabinoids found in the plant. It feels, smells, looks, tastes just like Cannabis but being the precursor to THC, THCa doesn't have psychoactive effects—until it's heated.
The Agriculture Improvement Act of 2018, also known as the 2018 Farm Bill legalized hemp and its derivatives, including THCa, at the federal level.The passing of the 2018 Farm Bill allows hemp-derived products a legal threshold of 0.3% THC for the cultivation of high-THCA Cannabis.
THCa is 100% Federally Legal.
THCa is the precursor to THC. While THCa does not produce a high on its own, it converts to THC when exposed to heat through a process called decarboxylation. This means that raw THCa flower is non-psychoactive until it is smoked, vaped, or otherwise heated.
THCa Cannabis is legally defined as cannabis with a THC concentration of no more than 0.3% on a dry weight basis. THC Cannabis (Delta-9-Tetrahydrocannabinol) contains a THC concentration of greater than 0.3% on a dry weight basis.
While THCa and THC are distinct cannabinoids, they share some beneficial properties. Both compounds, when consumed, will produce a euphoric "high" that can enhance mood, creativity, and sensory perception.
